About Napkin Board
At most universities, the dining hall food is nothing to write home about. At others, such as Washington University and James Madison University, the food rivals many home cooked meals. Why are some schools so far behind in the simple task of providing students good food that they actually want to eat? The answer probably varies from institution to institution, but we feel that one main root problem is that most universities do not communicate directly with students.
Students know whether the pizza tasted like cardboard, the ice cream was soupy, or the cheese burger was over done and burnt. They also know if the pasta bar was delicious and quick when they were short on time. If administrators knew this information too, then they could use it to easily improve the food that students eat every day. Knowing which foods students like and which they don’t can lead to more student-friendly menus and indicate which foods need improvement. That is the motivation for Napkin Board, a website that allows college students to rate the dining hall food that they eat on campus.
The site is brand new so keep checking back for new features.
